The Parkville Senior Center was founded in 1971 and was located in several different sites until the Parkville Community School was built in 1976. The Parkville Community School was designed to house the Senior Center, the Day Care Center, the Dwight Branch Library, a Recreation Room and a Community Room. The Parkville Senior Center was sponsored by the Parkville Community Association until 1976 when it incorporated and became a 501 (c) (3) organization. Members of the Parkville Senior Center have been active participants in all of the organizations in the community and serve as hosts for most of their meetings.
